Timber Flooring

Today the timber floor was laid. They had to level the floor before-hand. This is something they do not tell you about until pretty much the last moment. The builders tolerances and the tolerances required for a timber floor are quite different. So they had to grind out high points in the concrete and fill in low points. Another $800 bucks thank you very much. I need to find out how to do that job. Hour and a half work, and almost a grand in the skyrocket. Nice. Anyway the floor is looking good, although the pictures are not complete. They still have to put on the quad edging (scotia, mouse board) whatever you call it. Carpet in next. We also fitted some curtains and blinds and assembled our stools for the kitchen bench (before flooring). Hope you like the pics...

Kitchen Stools before flooring. We had to remove the oven prior to flooring. Splash-back in place.

TV Room. A/C install also completed.

Handover Day...26.04.2013

Wow!! we did it. We got the keys to our first home.

The handover went smooth, just a few things that need to be sorted out, but apart from that, we are so so happy with the final product.
I have yet to take any photos, I think I will leave that for now and will post some once the flooring in done.

R2D2 was the first car on the Driveway. Scott looks so so happy.

Landscaping.

Today we went out to have a look at some garden centres and were overwhelmed by the choices that are on offer. So tonight I thought I would have a go at a landscaping design and this is what I came up with.

This is how I would like our garden to look like. That is me walking to Scott on the Patio (right bottom). Obviously the shrubs at the front would go right up to the boundary.

And the Big Man said, Let there be light: And there was light. And the Big Man saw the light, and it was good...

All the lights are now installed, albeit with a few dodgy globes (bulbs). We have installed down lights in many of the rooms, along with fan lights. The kitchen bench has pendants that the wifey sourced online, along with the dining table lights. These are the 4 white pendants, that are currently cable-tied higher than they will be. Hall wall lights as well, we may have to go for a lower wattage bulb in there, as they are a bit bright. We also have the garage door installed along with the outdoor front facing lights. They look very small, but we will have to see them at night time. We also installed a moat, though not to my specifications...
